It s Christmas Eve the busiest shopping day at Carrington s Department Store. Holly, Carrington s newest clerk, is late to work and struggling to find her niche among the snooty personnel. Among the customers is a young family that arrives for some last-minute shopping and learns a valuable lesson about connecting with their son. A cynical, wealthy man learns about true love from a poor, destitute girl who sacrifices her own well-being for her family. Meanwhile, three inept criminals are making plans to rob the store at closing time. In their hysterical and bungled attempt to crack the safe, the robbers take Holly and a customer, Barry, as hostages.
